Spring Change Day 2026

Change Day is Sunday, April 12.

Midvalley Express (Route 50X) will begin service between West Valley Central and Murray Central. MVX will be Zero Fare through April 2029. Routes 39, 47, and 227 will be adjusted to support the new service.

Ski bus service ends for the season. Route 470 will be adjusted to provide additional Sunday service to Lagoon for the summer.

Several schedules will be adjusted to improve reliability, operator safety, and connections.

As part of UTA’s multi-year project to improve and simplify fare payment, there will be changes to monthly paper passes and reduced fare ticketing methods.

Fares System Changes

Monthly Paper Passes

Monthly UTA paper passes will be discontinued and no longer for sale after April 12.

If you have an April 2026 paper pass, it will remain valid through April 30.

Reduced Fare

Reduced fare will only be available through the Reduced Fare FAREPAY Card for qualified riders. Reduced fare will no longer be sold through ticket vending machines, on the Transit app, or for cash at the bus farebox.

Service begins at Murray Central Station connecting to Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) Taylorsville Campus, and West Valley Central Station

Route realigned due to MVX beginning service: route will no longer serve SLCC-Taylorsville (now served by MVX); route realigned to 3800 South to improve travel times and east-west connectivity

Route 47

Route realigned due to MVX beginning service: will end at Murray North TRAX Station to reduce redundancy at Murray Central Station and provide alternate connections

Route 227

Route realigned due to MVX beginning service: route will operate between SLCC-Jordan and SLCC-Taylorsville to reduce redundancy with MVX and improve connections with the TRAX Red Line; frequency will increase to 30 minutes on weekdays; hourly service added on Saturdays
